Background and Aim : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the status of substance use and its associated high risk behaviors and the coverage of safe sex services and safe injections in addicted men in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences drop-in centers Methods : This review is a retrospective field study. The target community is addicted men over the age of 18. The statistical population is the men who go to drop-in centers and outreach teams . The sample size is 4718 people. The sampling method is based on the total number of clients who come to the drop-in centers and outreach teams . Sample selection criteria include being male, substance abuse, recipient of harm reduction services from university drop-in centers. The variables studied include the type of substance abuse, high risk behaviors, condom cover, syringe cover, concomitant stimulant and opioid use, age In this study, the information recorded in the case (based on interviews with the samples) has been used Results : 81% of the recipients of Mashhad University s centers of service are men.13.5% of them are 18 to 29 years old, 71.74% are 49-30 years old and 14.72% are more than 50 years old.Abuse of substance in 78.5% of cases is opioid and stimulant, 15.6% opioid and 5.8% stimulant. 42.3% had a history of drug use in the past year. 6.7% have high risk sexual behaviors. The number of condoms distributed per year for each injectable consumer was 23 (19.2% of the expected) for each stimulant s consumer of 14 (11.7%). The distribution number per year for each injectable consumer was 52 (25% of the expected)Conclusion : It has been proven that two safe sex and safety injuries programs are effective in preventing and reducing the illnesses such as AIDS and hepatitis in the community, so strengthening the two programs in the drop-in centers is essential.
