RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-ESTEEM, POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE AFFECT WITH GENERAL HEALTH OF ADDICTS UNDER TREATMENT OF MID-TERM RESIDENTIAL CENTERS IN TABRIZ

Background and Aim : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-esteem, positive and negative affect with general health of addicts under treatment of midterm residential centers of Tabriz cityMethods : This research was a correlational study. The statistical population consisted of all addicts treated with intermediate-term residential centers in Tabriz at 1397 that in an accessible method, 200 people from 4 residential centers were selected and responded to the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Questionnaire (1965), Positive and Negative Affect Scale (Watson et al., 1988), and Goldberg and Hiller s General Health Questionnaire (1979). The data were analyzed using descriptive methods such as average, standard deviation and inferential method including correlation and regressionResults : The results showed that high self-esteem, high affective and low negative affect can predict the general health of addicted people.Conclusion : According to the results of this study, self-esteem, positive and negative Affect are one of the important factors influencing general health.
