COMPARE QUALITY OF LIFE AND SEXUAL SATISFACTION IN METHADONE MAINTENANCE THERAPY COMPARED TO BUPRENORPHINE

Background and Aim : The objective of this study was to compare quality of life and sexual satisfaction in Methadone Maintenance Therapy Compared to Buprenorphine.Methods : In this cross-sectional study,90 patients covered by Buprenorphine were compared with 90 patients undergoing methadone maintenance treatment gathered from Poldokhtar city (Iran) in 2016 and they completed the IIEF Questionnaire and EQ-5DResults : The results of multivariate analysis of variance showed not significant differences in quality of life and sexual satisfaction between the two groups in components of quality of life so that MMT group achieved and Buprenorphine(p> 0.05). Conclusion : The findings indicated the not effectiveness of methadone maintenance therapy in compared to Buprenorphine and totally It can be said that quality of life and sexual satisfaction are partly modified due to avoidance of substance abuse in treatment
