EFFECT OF STRUCTURAL FAMILY THERAPY ON MARITAL ADJUSTMENT IN FAMILIES WITH ADDICTED PERSONS

Background and Aim : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of structural family therapist approach on marital adjustment of families with addicted people.Methods : This study was carried out using Nemesis method with pre-test and post-test design with unequal control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of all families referring to Hiva counseling center in Shahrekord city who have drug addicts, of which 20 families were selected through voluntary, purposeful and voluntary sampling and randomly Two experimental groups (10 families) and control (10 families) were replaced.The members of the group were subjected to structured family therapy for 8 sessions of 90 minutes. During the intervention, the control group received no treatment. The tools of this research were Lock Laws Marital Adaptation Test, which was analyzed by software.Results : The findings showed that structural family therapy is effective on marital adjustmentConclusion : The results indicate the importance of considering family therapy interventions in increasing marital adjustment of addicted families.
