INVESTIGATE EFFECTIVENESS OF COGNITIVE – BEHAVIORAL GROUP THERAPY ON ATTACHMENT STYLES, PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS AND SELF- EFFICACY OF DRUG -DEPENDENCE WOMEN

Background and Aim : The purpose of current study was to investigate effectiveness of cognitive- behavioral group therapy on attachment styles, personality characteristics and self- efficacy of drug- dependence women in Kermanshah city. Methods : The present study was quasi- experimental and it was carried out in the pre- test and post– test method along with control group. The statistical population of this study is women referring to addiction treatment centers in Kermanshah city. Based on available sampling method, a sample of 30 people were selected and randomly, they were divided in two test and control groups. Then during 90-minute ten sessions, they received based- cognitive behavioral therapy based on Allis et al therapeutic Plan (1998) Bek and et al cognitive– behavioral techniques (1380). All of the sample people completed the Neo personality, Adult Attack of Collins and Reed and General self-efficacy of Sherer et al questionnaires in the two post- test and pre- test stages. Results : Findings obtained from the research showed that there is no difference in attachment styles, personality characteristics and self- efficacy components between two groups in pre– test. But there is a meaningful difference between two groups in post– test.Conclusion : As a result, cognitive - behavioral therapy is effective in change of attachment styles, personality characteristics and rate of self- efficacy of drug –dependence women in a group way. Therefore, use of this therapeutic approach to improve drug- dependence women health process is recommended.
