چکیده مقاله:

The feasibility of measuring CO2 content in biogas was evaluated in this article. Curtipot pH simulator was used to visualize the titration behavior of dissolved CO2 in basic solution. It was shown that when titration curves of different CO2 content samples are separated enough, titration can provide precise information of solved CO2. Also when the molar concentration of NaOH to CO2 is around 2 the separability of curves are satisfactory and outside this range the ability of titration to segregate data diminishes. In addition, when the ratio of NaOH to H2CO3 is in range of 2, pH meter can determine concentration of CO2 by a one-time probing and titration doesn’t provide more information. The temperature effect on CO2 measurement shows even 10 degrees of centigrade causes less than 1 percent decrease in CO2 estimation, so depends on sensitivity of plant the result can be used witout doubt. Finally, a comparison between GC and pH measurement was done and experimental results were in concurrent. The finding of this method can be used in designing a non- expensive measuring method in less developed countries.
