چکیده مقاله:
One of the major causes of failure to treat addiction is the carving to re-use addictive substances that have devastating effects on mental and physical health. In the literature, the effect of hypnosis on the improvement of addiction treatment is recognized. Therefore, the present study investigates the effect of hypnosis on reducing opiate carving.Method:The present research was conducted on 45 addicts who were under treatment with methadone. There were two control groups, including a group of nature-oriented hypnotherapy and a non-intervention group, and one case group treated with hypnosis along with indoctrination. Results:Decreased craving in both control groups as well as the effect of time on reducing craving were demonstrated by performing statistical studies. It was found that the effect of time on each of the three groups was ?<0.05 showing that it has a significant effect on reducing craving. Conclusion:Although it was found that carving was reduced in all three groups and there was no significant difference between the two control groups, there was a noteworthy difference between the case group and the non-intervention group (control 2). Therefore, it was concluded that hypnosis along with indoctrination may play an effective role in reducing opiate craving.
