Nonverbal Hypnosis in Dentistry

Occasionally dental treatment of traumatized and extremely anxious patients is urgently needed, although no chance of language exchange is possible if nobody understands the language of the other. Actually, this is an impossible therapeutic situation or the basis for encounters in a genuine and special way, because communication is more than just talking. During medical aid missions in Africa, we experienced very deep trance states through nonverbal hypnosis. On the borderline between awareness and the unconscious we accompanied our patients in a kind of co-trancethat involves cognitive, emotional, and psycho-vegetative processes.
