چکیده مقاله:

Background: This is an interactive session to discuss uncommon/ interesting / new pediatric nuclear procedures. Objectives: 1. To discuss interesting pediatric nuclear medicine and PET/CT cases 2- To review uncommon pediatric nuclear medicine cases 3- To introduce the value of HRpQCT in childrenMethods: Uncommon, interesting and new techniques in pediatric population will be discussed by reviewing a Meckel scan, salivagram, mucociliary study, PET/CT in oncology and seizure, and HRpQCT. During the review, international guidelines (e.g. SNMMI, AAN epilepsy, ISSCD guidelines) will be quoted. Original studies from the Hospital For Sick Children regarding the Meckel scan, mucociliary study, seizure PET and HRpQCT will also be referred. Conclusion: By showing a case of Meckel scan, several technical points for acquisition and interpretation of this important study in children will be reviewed. Other pediatric cases will be discussed by reviewing the cases including, pulmonary aspiration and the techniques to detect that, the value of mucociliary study in the diagnosis of PCD in children, the value of co-registration of PET and MRI in the detection of epileptogenic foci, and the usefulness of HRpQCT in densitometric/histomorphology information of pediatric bone disease.
