Radiopharmaceuticals Market: Latest Trend & Analysis Report

Abstract: Radiopharmaceuticals are drugs that contain radionuclide-emitting ionizing radiation, used in the nuclear imaging field to diagnose and treat diseases. The global radiopharmaceuticals market was valued at $3.8 billion in 2012 and is poised to reach $5.5 billion by 2017 at a CAGR of 7.8%. The radiopharmaceutical market is broadly classified into two segments, namely, diagnostic and therapeutic; the former dominated with about 85% share in 2012. Meanwhile, presence of 200 nuclear medicine centers and rich human resources at the level of nuclear medicine physicians, radiopharmacists, physicist, technologist and other related specialties in Iran will provide a sustainable infrastructure and capacity for advancement in basic and clinical nuclear medicine sciences and services. In this review, we focus on radiopharmaceuticals market in Iran and the world.
