Evaluation of Different Bed Bugs Control Measures in Mazandaran Prisons in 1397

Bed bug is an active night insect. This insect requires several stages of blood feeding to reach the maturity and generation stages.Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate each of the methods of combating bed bugs and the best method of fighting bed bugs in the prisons of Mazandaran province.Materials and Methods: In the prisons of the province, control methods included spraying, fogging, environmental improvement and the use of flame heat. Two methods were used for designing the methods. All procedures were repeated with 20 days interval.Results: There was a significant difference between the environment sanitation-flame heat mixing method and the fog-flame heat mixing method and spray-environment sanitation mixing method. In this review, the best combating methods are combinatorial methods of flame and environment sanitation.Discussion & Conclusion: environment sanitation-flame heat mixing method cause eliminated 50% of the contamination. fog-flame heat mixing method were in the second place with 16/7% removal and spray-environment sanitation mixing method with 3/8%. The flame heat treatment is one of the suitable methods of throttling in prisons. As bed bugs live in prisons and metal beds, flame heat in the bed can kill mature and nymphs and even bed bug eggs.
