چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objectives: Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect different aspects of patients lives. MS patients experience a wide range of symptoms, including physical, emotional, and psychological symptoms. In recent years, mental therapies, including yoga, have been suggested as alternative therapies to manage the symptoms.Material and methods: This study is a review study using reputable scientific sites and reviewing literature and collecting empirical articles of other authors.Result: Studies show that yoga enhances self-efficacy in MS patients through increased physical activity, increased lower extremity strength and balance, significant reduction in fatigue and physical pain, and ultimately to promote social functioning and to relieve stress and anxiety in these patients. It also has a positive effect on patients quality of life and physical function and improvement of their mood and improvement in BDI score. Research shows that yoga modulates ACTH levels while decreasing cortisol levels. Yoga is also effective as complementary treatments in MS patients with neurogenic bladder.Conclusion: Yoga is a safe and feasible therapy .It can be used as an effective method to improve the quality of life in MS patients. It is recommended to include yoga exercise program to help these patients.
