چکیده مقاله:

Backgrounds:However the pathogenesis of chorangiosis is still unknown, but it should be considered as a placental sign of potential clinical significance. Therefore, this study is designed to review308 cases with chorangiosis over a4year period to determine the association chorangiosis with perinatal outcomes.Material and method :In this cross-sectional study, we reviewed all medical records of the mothers whom their placentas had been sent to pathologydepartment of Shiraz Universityof Medical Sciences for histopathological examination during4 years. According to histopathology examination, a number of308 cases were diagnosed as chorangiosis. We randomly considered another 308 cases with other diagnostics in pathology as control group.Result: Overall, mothers with chorangiosis experienced higher incidence of (0,001=P)esarean delivery , (0,001=P) NICU admission dead fetus(0,001=P) fetal anomaly, compared to those in control group. In addition, the mean of Apgar score at1 minute and5 minutes, and birth weight in chorangiosis were significantly lower than control group(0,001=P) for all. The incidence ofplacenta membrane, cord and decidua pathologies in chorangiosis were significantly more than control group. Conclusion: However chorangiosis is a rare condition, but it is associated with higher incidence of perinatal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Therefore, it should be considered as an important clinical sign of adverse pregnancy outcomes, and should be mentioned in the pathology evaluation
