چکیده مقاله:
The traumatic injury of the airway is one of the most important and serious issues in pediatric trauma and this is one of the critical reasons for referring children to the emergency department and is one of the most common causes of disability and mortality in them. In the absence of a suitable airway, any attempt to resuscitate and manage of the trauma can be failed. The patient is a 3-year-old toddler boy brought to the emergency department due to pedestrian car accident. He was admitted in emergency ward, BP: 90/60, PR: 120, RR: 40, and there was extensive subcutaneous emphysema in the neck and chest. In CT scan, rupture of the thoracic trachea in one cm of carina in the posterior wall and pneumomediastinum was detected. In esophagogram there was no leakage. The patient underwent nonsurgical conservative management and was discharged after recovery
