INNOVATIONS OF NEW STANDARD EN 81-20

The need to release a new standard related to safety of new installed lifts became more obvious because of several incidents and demands coming from global manufacturers in market. As a result the CEN committee worked on a better safety standard together with notified bodies and major manufacturers/installers.With the release of new standard EN 81-20/50 there have been significant changes and improvements in terms of safety and calculations. The latest standard is now more in line with international and American standards and also many existing items have better explanations, so they are clearer to interested parties. The need to allow state of art technologies to mature is better meet in every way with newly added items and annexes.
