Safety Engineering Design Philosophy in Oil Production Units

The main purpose of this study is to define the loss prevention and design safety philosophy for a typical oil production unit design project. The study highlights the concept of risk management, and identifies the factors that contribute to the risk and how this risk can be measured , controlled and mitigated . Also it addresses principally the relevant safety issues within the production plant such as detection and alarm system, active and passive fire protection systems, ignition source control and personal safety.
