چکیده مقاله:

Nowadays nanotechnology has opened a wide door of opportunities in different engineering areas. Drilling fluids such as drilling fluid, cement and completion fluids can be improved by proper using of nano-materials. For oil & gas cement operations, providing a rheological, filtration, compressive strength and other properties are so important and improving any of these mentioned parameters will result in drilling wells with higher quality and sometimes with less cost and time.In this paper, the effect of single-wall CNTs and Nano-Silica on cement slurries’ properties is investigated. All the common cement laboratory evaluations such as rheological test, filtration test, compressive strength test, crushing test and free water test were performed as different percentage (0/5, 1 & 3% wt.) of mentioned nano-materials were added to a common operational cement slurry. The test results showed, there is an optimum concentration (1% wt.) for CNT to reach a significant improvement in rheological and compressive strength, but in Nano-Silica case, using the more concentration of nano particles derive us to a cement slurry with higher compressive strength and yield point. So for choosing the right concentration of Nano -Silica, cost issues are the main factor to consider. For instance, adding 1% wt. of CNT and 3% wt. of Nano-Silica individually in base cement slurries, increased the compressive strength of the slurries by 46% and 93% compared to the normal slurry sample, respectively.Due to the fact that the normal slurry is chosen based on the fluid used in one of the fields of southern Iran this can be a solution to many problems in the design of drilling cement slurries.
