چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim: The world population is getting old rapidly aging population is the new phenomenon in Iran too. Iran is one of the developing countries, which in the recent years, has seen a growing increase in the number of elderly together with declining fertility rates. In particular, the proportion of elderly population has significantly increased from 7.22% in 2006 to 8.20% in 2011, and, according to further increase to 10.5% within 2025 and to 21.7% within 2050. Methods: A search using MagIran, Iran doc, PubMed, Cochrane Library and Scopus was conducted using the following strategy: ‘Iranian Elderly And Health-related of quality of life or Quality of life (Meta-analysis or systematic review). Results: Seven systematic reviews investigated the quality of life in Iranian Elderly population of six meta-analyses reported. That health-related quality of life (QOL) decreased within increasing age. QOL was worse in women than in men, especially in physical-role and general health scales. Elderly people who lived in their own home and elder Iranian individuals is generally low. A significant reverse association between receiving social support (SS) and functional status was described in Iran. It may be difficult for older people to remember how often they received different types of SS in the last year. One of seven meta-analyses reported that given that QOL of elderly was almost at an average level. Overaly studies believed Quality of life and Health Quality of life were low in Iranian Elderly population. Conclusion: Healthy policy makers should design comprehensive programmes to improve Healthrelated QOL for the Iranian elderly population and should put HRQOL among elderly as priority of their agenda, providing social, economic and sychological support, as well as increasing theparticipation of old people in the community life and use their experiences.
