چکیده مقاله:

Until recent years, the mainstay of the treatment of aortic valve stenosis have been surgical aortic valve replacement. In 2002, Professor Cribier introduced the novel transcutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for the elderly patient who is not suitable for surgery. He performed a live case in the TCT conference in 2007 and familiarized the world with this new alternative. Since then more than several thousands patients were treated with this novel approach worldwide. More than 1,000 cases were performed, and this technique was used in other valves of the heart and VIV. The TAVR team at Day Hospital was created in 2009. The team includes Drs. Mandeghar, Abdi, Roshanali and me. Our team has been collaborating and leading the national TAVR program. nationwide and with close team have been in close collaboration with the national TAVR team. The Day Hospital team have been performed more than 57 TAVR cases since 2009. There were complex cases such as complex multivalve diseases, valve in valve TAVR, apical approach or concomitant PVI/EDVS/EVAR/TAVR cases. TAVR, when preformed by an experience team, is a safe an effective treatment for patients who are at high risk for open heart surgery.
