چکیده مقاله:

Biological soft tissues are porous media. The main property of porous medium is permeability which could be seriously affected by different physiological phenomena including diseases. In the present study, an experimental setup is designed and constructed tomeasure biological tissue permeability. Measurements are confined in one direction by the placement of tissue sample in impermeable chamber. Fluid flow is provided in the tissue by using a syringe pump. The tissue sample is the cut from the lambmeat in cylindrical shapes. Experimental permeability results are employed to conduct numerical modeling for the biological tissue withdimensions similar to the experiments. The main target is to study transport phenomena including the fluid flow and LDL transport in the tissue. Numerical results show that the permeability affects the velocity of interstitial fluid flow. It is directly proportional tothe mass transport which is significantly reduced by the permeability of tissue but it has a progressive pattern during the time.
