چکیده مقاله:

There are many processes such as vibratory finishing, shot blasting, shot peening, vibratory sieving and screening in which repeated impact of metal or ceramic particles to the machine parts, beams and struts occur. Hence, profound study of the vibration of machine parts due to the particles impact is necessary. In this research, the post-impact vibration of an aluminum elastic beamsubject to multiple impacts of spherical balls was investigated using the single mode approximation method. The slender simply-supported beam was assumed to follow the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Different cases of collision of one and two particles tothe beam midpoint and quarter length of the beam far from its supports were considered. Maximum impact force, maximum deflection and velocity, and contact time were calculated for each case, and compared among different cases. It was concluded that the beammaximum deflection and velocity were larger for the cases of multiple impacts compared to those including a single impact. Moreover, the beam was seen to deflect further and gain larger velocities if the balls collide simultaneously compared to subsequent collisions.Another observation was that the beam maximum amplitude and velocity were larger when one of the balls collided to the middle of the beam compared to those cases in which both balls collided near the supports
