In osteoporosis, bone mineral density decreases and the amount and type of proteins changes which overcomes the activity of osteoclasts on osteoblasts. The traditional use of herbal products in the treatment of osteoporosis has long been common in Iran and today s generation has always been looking for ways to overcome the disease and relieve it, and has made great strides in this way, but it has not yet achieved its full potential. In their studies medicinal herbs and medicinal products were used in various forms and were studied. Of these, 15 were eligible to enter this study.Findings: In traditional medicine there are many herbs that have anti-osteoporosis properties. Studies on nettle, coriander seeds, almond milk, coconut oil, and persimmons leaves have shown that these natural substances have anti-osteoporosis effects. However, due to the fact that not all studies have been done on all the plants it is not possible to accurately compare their effect on osteoporosisConclusion: Given the high prevalence of osteoporosis resulting from lifestyle of today, plants with anti-osteoporosis properties may after adequate studies have the potential to be an appropriate alternative to chemical drugs. More clinical studies are suggested to investigate the effect of medical herbs on osteoporosis
