چکیده مقاله:

Thalassemia is the most common genetic disease in the world. In Iran there are more than 20,000 major thalassemia patients. Most countries in the world, including Iran, implement the country s plan to prevent thalassemia. In our country, pre-marital diagnosis and a zinc counselor is one of the most effective programs in this field. The aim of this study was to determine the status of thalassemia in married applicants referred to the Laboratory and Healthcare Network of Jovein in 1396. In this study,Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on marriage applicants referring to the Jouin Healthcare Network in 1396. The data from the tests conducted by the Jovein Health Network were analyzed using spss21 softwareFindings: The total number of couples referring to the laboratory is 440 people who are habitually resident in 74 rural areas. From the marriage age, more women (42%) were from the age group of 15 to 19 years old and most men (44.5%) were in the age group 20-24 years old, which is statistically significant (p<0.001). In terms of education, in both sexes, most of the cases are high school and diploma. According to the familial ratio, 2, 27% of clients have close kinship (uncle s child, aunt, aunt, uncle) and (grandfather uncle, aunt, aunt, uncle). From the viewpoint of referral status, 5.67% of the cases referred to the contract for the tests. The average MCV of male patients is 3.85 and MCH of 2.31. There are 26 men who have had difficulty with blood tests, of which women received MCV, MCH and finally 4 low-risk couples Thalassemia has been identified. No cases of thalassemic carriers have been identified. Conclusion: Considering the high number of clients after the legal agreement, the education of the importance of thalassemia should be given at the level of health centers and homes. Due to the fact that the most age group of women is 15-19 years old, planning for the education of thalassemia in high school should be done.
