Alcohol Oxidation by TBHP Using Molybdenum Oxide Immobilized on Mesoporous Silica

چکیده مقاله:

The molybdenum (VI) oxide nanoparticles were prepared inside the channels of mesoporoussilica support via incipient-wetness impregnation method by taking appropriate concentrationof Ammonium hepta molybdate tetrahydrate [1,2]. These compounds were characterized byXRD, TEM, BET, FT-IR and ICP. The XRD pattern showed high crystalline MoO3 phase.TEM image presented hexagonal array of uniform channels of SBA-15 with diameter of 7 nmthat were retained after impregnation and calcination. The N2 adsorption-desorption isothermsillustrated decrease of surface area and pore size after immobilization. Infrared spectra indicatedchange in peaks intensity and create of new vibration at support when Mo introduce.The Molybdenum loading was obtained %17.15 on SBA-15 supports using ICP analysis. Thecatalytic activity of MoO3/SBA-15 was investigated for the oxidation reaction of alcohols.This catalyst can catalyze the alcohol oxidation reactions with TBHP as oxidant at 80 °C insolvent free conditions (Fig. 1). The heterogeneous behavior of the catalyst was remained duringthe reactions, and various ranges of alcohols were converted to carbonyl compounds.
