چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Deficiency of vitamins during chemotherapy can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis. Two vitamins A and E play a very important role in the prevention of DVT in women with breast cancer undergoing chemo-susceptible VDT. The aim of this study was to compare the addition of vitamins A and E to the medication diet of women with breast cancer prone to venous thrombosis under chemotherapy. Methods: This clinical trial study was performed on 100 patients with chemotherapy-induced breast cancer who were prone to DVT. Patients were randomly assigned into two groups: 1 (vitamin A) and 2 (vitamin E) . The incidence of DVT in all patients before and after the intervention was measured based on the caprini criteria and the results were compared with the Mann-Whitney U test. Results: The mean score of DVT was not different between the two groups before the intervention (P = 0.120); there was no difference between the scores of the two groups after the intervention (P = 0.324). But the scores for each group were significantly different from those received before receiving the corresponding vitamin. (P2 = 0.0009) (P1 = 0.0005) Conclusion: Adding vitamins A and E in women with breast cancer who are chemotherapy-prone to DVT have a beneficial effect in preventing it.
