Bioinformatics concept and application in veterinary science

Bioinformatics is the science that involves the application of computer science to manage, store and analyze biological information. Phenomenal rate of biological data production generated challenges that must be prevailed. Using bioinformatics algorithms and tools is an inexpensive and effortless choice to obtain information on gene and protein levels [3]. Veterinary science deals with diagnosis and controls of animal diseases as well as zoonosis [2]. bioinformatics could affect veterinary science in different fields such as sequencing, vaccine development and microRNA interaction prediction for therapeutic aspects in animals [1]. This paper highlights some bioinformatics tools and recent advances in veterinary bioinformatics.
