چکیده مقاله:
Regenerative Endodontic Treatment in necrotic teeth with open apices is a new treatment modality showing a higher survival rate than apexification with both mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and Ca(OH)2 .As in tissue engineering, scaffolds are one major arm in Regenerative Endodontics. Scaffolds are three-dimensional replicas of the extracellular matrix that provide biological and mechanical support to the stem cells. They must have a variety of properties to be applicable in the field of Regenerative Endodontic Treatment.They are mainly classified in two major groups: natural and synthetic. Among the natural types, autologous platelet concentrates are widely used in the field of Regenerative Endodontics and have 3 generations. In this lecture, properties required for scaffolds used in Regenerative Endodontics and autologous platelet concentrates generations are discussed.
