چکیده مقاله:

Regeneration, in periodontal disease, is an important element, which is described as the reconstruction of supporting tissues. Junctional epithelium cells are the main keys in the periodontal surgery that have the potential for accelerating or delaying new attachment procedures. Three-dimensional regeneration of periodontal tissue arises when these cells reach to the wound, while epithelial cells and fibroblasts are excluded from the wound area. The membrane will be the most important factor for the reconstruction of these tissues. Knowledge related to different types of membranes is critical for periodontal tissue engineering. It is hypothesized that next-generation of GTR and GBR membranes will be biologically active. It is promising approach for periodontal tissue engineering. Particularly for the ideal results, space preserving is necessary. Applying biomaterials is one way to achieve space preserving but selecting biomaterials should be according to the defect type. This presentation was aimed to demonstrate the effect of membranes and biomaterials, in success rate of regenerative periodontal treatments.
