چکیده مقاله:
IntruductionPeripheral nerve regeneration as a complex biological phenomenon encompasses the formation of axonal sprouts. Electrospinning of synthetic and natural polymers is one of the most practical approaches to fabricate an extracellular matrix (ECM).ObjectivesIn this regard, produced aligned nanofiber could utilize as paths to axons guidance. In this study, we developed an aligned polycaprolactone (PCL)/lignin nanofibrous using electrospinning technique.MethodsChemical analysis of scaffold was studied using Fourier‐transform infrared (FTIR). Morphology and microstructure assessment, along with diameter and porosity of PCL/lignin were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In vitro biodegradable and water uptake of the nanofibrous scaffold was also evaluated. For assessing the biocompatibility of PCL/lignin scaffold, attachment and viability of PC12 cells were investigated by SEM and MTT assay, respectively.ResultsThe resulting data show that lignin as biodegradable natural biopolymer induces better property to the scaffold for repairing nerve tissue. This research proves the great promise of aligned PCL/lignin for neural tissue regeneration.
