چکیده مقاله:

IntroductionThyroxin (T4) is two type of Thyroid hormones which, regulator cell proliferation and cancer development. Mechanism of thyroid in various of cancer is different so, the aim of this study is the effect of thyroxin (T4) on cell viability of glioblastoma cancer cell lines of U87 and A172.MethodsIn this study, each, two type of glioblastoma cancer cell lines U87and A172 were divided into 9 groups which, a group was control group and 8 groups were treated via doses 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 20, 40, 50 Lambda (λ) of T4 for each cell lines of U87 and A172. The cytotoxicity of thyroxin Measurement using the MTT assay. The data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA.ResultsThe result demonstrated that, high cytotoxicity of thyroxin were in 1 (λ) and 5 (λ) dosages (A172 and U87 cell lines, respectively) and low cytotoxicity of thyroxin were in 0.5 and 40 (λ) dosages, and 0.5 (λ) dosage (A172 and U87 cell lines, respectively).ConclusionThe results of this study showed that the toxicity of thyroxin is not depended on thyroxin dosages on glioblastoma cell lines A172 and U87 which, suggesting thyroxin cannot effect on glioblastoma cancer cell lines.
