چکیده مقاله:

In recent decades, the application of polymeric composites has been increased in aerospace industry. Where, the spacecrafts are subjected to temperature fluctuations. In present study, the tensile performance of carbon/epoxy laminated composites is investigated considering the effects of cyclic thermal fatigue and the open hole. Specimens were fabricated with lay-up arrangement of [90_2/±30/90_2 ]_T using Filament winding method. Two different hole diameter were considered to analyze the effects of the hole size. The samples were subjected to thermal fatigue condition. Then, a tensile test was done based on the ASTM D 2290-04. Experimental results showed that thermal cycling condition leads to reduction of tensile strength. It was observed that increment of thermal cycles decreases the tensile strength in un-notched specimens; while this variation in the open hole specimens is less than un-notched specimens. So, larger hole diameter shows less tensile strength variation.
