Using of natural Dyes for improve Antibacterial and Safety of Life effects on Textile Fabrics

In study was taken up as an exploratory study to test if some natural dyes have prevented antibacterial activity with a view to develop protective clothing from these. In study choose Four natural dyes Acacia catechu, Kerria lacca, Quercus infectoria, Rubia cordifolia and Rumex maritimus were tested preposition common pathogens Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Quercus infectoria dye was most effective and showed maximum zone of prevention thereby indicating best antibacterial activity preposition all the microbes tested. Minimum prevention concentration was found to be varying from 5 to 40 mg. The textile material impregnated with these natural dyes, however, showed less antibacterial activity, as uptake of these dyes in textile material is below MIC.
