Geomorphology and tourism development Lut desert

Geomorpho-tourism considers landforms in terms of aesthetic, interpretive, and conservation. Geomorpho-sites are concepts related to geomorphological phenomena that have specific values for understanding and exploitation of mankind. These sites have a special place in describing and understanding the historical stages of Earth s surface formation. In addition, geotourism sites and geomorphologic landforms have capabilities in ecotourism. Arid and semi-arid climatic conditions have led to overcome of arid climate and wind erosion in the Lut plain. On the other hand, there has been high evaporation and the presence of many salt minerals formed several saltpans in desert. In addition to natural attractions, historical and cultural places give more values to Lut desert. Outstanding geological phenomena such as Kaluts, Nebkha and Dunes, have transformed it into the only world natural heritage of Iran and one of the most popular world s tourism destination
