چکیده مقاله:
Preeclampsia and eclampsia syndrome is associated with some adaptive changes in the fetal circulation that can cause a marked disturbance in the hematologic and hemostatic system of the mother and the neonate lead to a serious neonatal complication such as sepsis and bleeding manifestations.Materials and Methods: This observational descriptive study has been conducted in the nursery of Imam-Hossain Hospital from 2014 to 2017 on 104 term and late preterm neonates born to preeclamptic/eclamptic mothers. For every term and late preterm newborn (gestational age more than 34 weeks) Cell Blood Count (CBC) and Prothrombin Time (PT) and Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT) requested 6 hours after birth.Neonatal data including gestational age, gender, mode of delivery, birth weight and laboratory reports of laboratory data has been extracted from their medical records and analyzed. Results: The results in this study demonstrated that the abnormality in mean leukocyte count (P=0.03), hemoglobin (P=0.0001), platelet (P=0.0001) and the PT (P=0.003), PPT (P=0.001), and INR (P=0.003)are more significant in the late preterm than term neonate. The laboratory disorders in our study were neutropenia in 15 cases (14.4%), anemia in 18 (17.3%), leucopenia in 23 (22.1%), and thrombocytopenia in 28(26.9%).Thirty -two patients (30.7%) developed coagulation disorders with prolonged PT or /and PTT. onclusion:The present study has been done to find out the prevalence of the hematological and coagulation profile abnormality of the healthy newborn from mothers with preeclampsia/eclampsia. Although we could not follow them for the sequel of these disorders, future study is needed to evaluate the necessity and benefits of early hematological screening of these newborns
