چکیده مقاله:

Background: Noise is one of the most common and obvious physical phenomena that many people encounter with it, in working environments and even in everyday life. Hospitals, as a healthcare provision center, are affected by sources of noise pollution. Accordingly, there is a negative effect on the health and comfort aspects of patients and employees. Considering the above, this study was performed to evaluate the noise pollution and designing of noise barrier with appropriate specifications for reducing the noise of vehicles by using TNM software in selected hospitals in Tabriz. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in emergency rooms, operating rooms and intensive care units in four selected hospitals in Tabriz (Imam Reza Hospital, ShahidMadani Hospital, Sina Hospital, SHAMS Hospital) in 2018. To do this, the noise pollution randomly assessed and evaluated inside the hospitals and around the above hospitals during ten days in two occasions, from 8 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 6 pm. The sound level meter used in this study was the CEL - 450 model, which was calibrated before each measurement. The main factors measured were SPLmax (db), SPLmin (db), Laeq (db). Two hospitals (Imam Reza Hospital, ShahidMadani Hospital) were selected to assess the noise pollution of the surrounding of the hospitals. Then, noise was measured close to the two hospitals by using the sound level meter at the selected locations. Calculations and models were designed to achieve the desired noise reduction, in order to select the noise barrier with the appropriate specifications, using TNM software. Results: The results of noise modeling with TNM software showed that if using noise barriers with appropriate specifications, we would reduce noise pollution up to 6-24 dB. The most noise pollution was in Emergency rooms of Imam Reza (AS) with an equivalent sound level of 72.53 dB in the morning shift, and the lowest level of noise was related to the operation room at the ShaheedMadani Hospital with 49.24 dB. In general, after comparing the results of measurements with the standard sound levels (equivalent sound level of 30 dB), the presence of noise pollution was clearly evident in the selected hospitals. Conclusion: Urban traffic is the main cause of air pollution, traffic accidents and noise pollution. Noise pollution has a long-term effects on the health of people with long-term complications and most of them are irreversible. Therefore, it is suggested that be considered planning such as the use of absorbent materials in the ceiling and the walls of rooms and floors, the repair and lubrication of transportation vehicles, the reduction of the number of personnel by the use of mechanized facilities and advanced equipment that reduces the need for frequent monitoring of nurses and medical personnel and at the end, the transfer of special sections of the hospital to low noise sections
