Review the views of the nursing students about the ethical- professional considerations of the use of social media

چکیده مقاله:

The specific structure and culture of the health sector, with regard to the confidentiality of information and the privacy of patients, confronts Communication between the professional, while inter-professional communication in this area is indispensable for the needs of patients and affiliated professions. In this research, the views of the nursing students about the ethical and professional considerations of using social media in the nursing profession were investigated.Methods: This study was conducted as a cross-sectional study in 2017. The research population was 217 undergraduate, postgraduate students in Kashan University of Medical Sciences. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire that was designed based on relevant sources. The formal validity and validity of the questionnaire content were verified by the opinion of 4 related faculty members. To determine the reliability, a questionnaire was distributed among 15 people in the study population and its reliability was calculated to be 70%. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics using spss16 software.Results: Of 217 students, 152 students participated in the research, of which 100 (65.8%) were female and the mean age was 21 years. Surveys of results on professional, ethical principal showed the following results: 1. Respect for ethnic of values and beliefs and the cultures of patients and colleagues with 125 people (82.2%) 2. Not using the identity of others with 122 people (80.3%) 3. Statement of purpose and possible outcomes before disseminating professional information with 114 people agree (75%) 4. Maintaining a professional image in online interactions with 112 people (73.7%) 5. Separating a professional profile from the personal profile and that only trusted individuals Having access to 108 people (71.1%); 6. not submitting negative comments about colleagues; and effective communication with 104 people (68.4 percent); 7. lack of communication and friendship with the patient through the personal account with 101 agreed (66.4%).Conclusion: In the nursing profession, patient is on the one hand the relationship between the patient and the nurse, the poll showed that the majority considered the values and the ethnic and cultural beliefs of the patients, and, on the other hand, the lack of communication and friendship with the patient through the personal account has the lowest amount. Health Care Institutions Due to the close relationship with Patients as their customers should prioritize patient rights. Therefore, recommend to these organizations seeking to establish an organizational or national guideline for the proper use of social media to prevent legal, Ethical errors and to uphold ethical and professional principles when using social media
