چکیده مقاله:
The first investigation of thermophysical and transport properties of N-hexyl pyridinium nitrate [HPy][NO3] room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) in combination with organic solvents including water, ethanol, and acetonitrile in the form of binary mixtures were comparatively studied at the temperature of 298.15 K and pressure of 101 kPa. In this regard, densities, viscosities, and refractive indices of binary mixtures were measured and the obtained experimental values of these quantities were used to calculate derived properties. In order to examine the volumetric properties of the binary mixtures, apparent molar volume (Vφ), have been calculated from experimental density values and were correlated using both Redlich-Mayer and Pitzer models. By scrutinizing these data, it was found that the dielectric constant and polarity of the solvents have a significant effect on the ion-solvent interactions. The viscosity and refractive index of the mixtures are also reported and B-coefficient of Jones-Dole equation and molar refractive index through Lorenz-Lorentz equation were obtained using the aforementioned measured data. Furthermore, the standard deviations values are also reported using linear least square method and denote the differences between the calculated and experimental data points. Finally, the results were used in order to shed light on the structure making/breaking effect of ions in the binary mixtures.
