چکیده مقاله:

Background and objectives: The new paradigm of health implies that the health depends on several parameters such as social factors, knowledge and even personality traits. Mothers, those who bring up next generation, make up a great part of society. So, their physical, mental and social health directly affects children or in other words future community condition. Due to this critical role of mothers on personality of today’s children and tomorrow’s adult, it’s necessary to study the effect of educating on health promotion behaviors. This investigation is done through utilizing Pender s Model in nursing mothers. The results can be used to improve the overall health level.Materials and methods: In this semi-experimental interventional study, 97 nursing mothers coming to Fasa clinics were randomly selected (in two case and control group). They were then completely informed about the goals of this research and generously accepted to complete the health promotion questionnaire. For the case group, 5 class sessions were held and essential information about different areas of health and lifestyle was presented to them. After a while, all 97 mothers were invited to complete the questionnaire once again. In order to analyze the data, SPSS version 20 software, ANOVA, pearson, Kruskal-wallis, mann-whitney, wilcoxon and spearman were used Results: This study was conducted on 97 nursing mothers with average age of 29.5 in case group and 29.77 in control group. The highest score belongs to spiritual growth (23.29 ±6.16 before educating and 24.65 ± 6.56 after educating) and the lowest was related to interpersonal communications (4.70±1.57 before intervention and 5.05±1.76 after intervention). The results show that educating has significant effect on all 6 fields of this study. In more detail, this issue was obvious in case group after educating and between case and control group after interventionConclusion: The results of this study express the positive and significant impact of educating on all areas of health promotion behaviors, which is so important and hopeful. This notable effect of educating caused an increase in scores of most areas after educating in case group and also in the scores of case group compared to control group after educating. So it seems investing in educating people is so efficient. Due to lack of studies in this context in Iran, more interventional studies in other stratums of society are suggested
