چکیده مقاله:

Children under the age of 18 lack the knowledge and experience to differentiate between and detect the intentions of the advertisements that are targeted towards them. In this essay, the negative consequences that arise due to advertisements directed towards children will be endeavored. The methodology that was implemented involved a review of literature of prior studies conducted to assess the effects of advertisements targeting children. In addition, based on the data provided by the studies, conclusions were drawn and effects analyzed. The issues that arise include the introduction of violent and aggressive behavior in children, the creation of ideals in their self-image, and the formation of stereotypical views on certain groups. In conclusion, the importance and necessity of media and information literacy in preventing and overcoming these issues is stressed
