چکیده مقاله:

In the present work, the adsorption of methylene blue (MB) was investigated by using functionalized nano-magnetic wood-based activated carbon (nMWAC). In the best of our knowledge is to apply the novel method for synthesis of the magnetic activated carbon to have an efficient adsorbent. Operating conditions including contact time and initial concentration of methylene blue were studied while the other factors kept constant. The isotherm theories were evaluated including Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin equations which were in the good agreement with the experimental data. The morphology of the prepared adsorbent was characterized by applying XRD, FTIR and FESEM tests. The XRD and FESEM results illustrated that the size of the magnetite nanoparticles over activated carbon was achieved below 22 nm. The maximum adsorption capacity was measured to be 555.556 mg/g.
