چکیده مقاله:

Mono-metallic Pd/Al2O3 and bi-metallic Pd-Ga/Al2O3 catalysts were synthesized by impregnation method and evaluated in tail-end acetylene selective hydrogenation process at temperature of 60oC, pressure of 10bar and GHSV of 4000h-1. Feed mixture contained 1mol.% C2H2, 1.5mol.% H2, 30mol.% N2 and C2H4 as balance. Fresh samples were characterized by FE-SEM and TPD-CO and used ones were characterized by TG. It is observed that all samples had egg-shell distribution for active phase and promoter for which penetration depth was in the range of 15-23µm. TPD-CO analysis proved that due to dry impregnation of Ga, stronger isolated Pd sites was formed. On the other hand, wet imprgmation of Ga had no influence on adsorption strength of linear Pd sites; as the temperature of the linear peak was the same with mono-metallic sample. Catalytic performance tests proved that incorporation of Ga by wet impregnation method improved acetylene conversion (about 40%) and ethylene selectivity (about 50%), considerably.
