Ecological, reproduction and behavior study on Spermophilus fulvus; Lichtenstein 1823 (Mammalia: Rodentia) in Zanjan province

The ecology, reproduction and behavior observations of S.fulvus was reported from field and laboratory studies in two years (2016-2017) period. It constitutes small social colonies and sharp and shrill voices. The hibernation period in this rodent from to begin end summer and conclusion in end winter. This rodent gives a birth to 3-5babies per year. They newly born babies had closed eyes and ears, without any hair on their body, weighing 7 gr. on average. Their bodies are covered with hair on the 17-19th day, eyes and ears are opened on the 20-28th and 35th day respectively. Weaning takes place at the end of the 70th day and they reach maturity on the fourth month
