Objective: One of the main problems in breast cancer is late detection in the above stages, and another complication is the aesthetic after mastectomy. This leads to a reduction in patients willingness to surgery even in the early stages of diagnosis. skin sparing Mastectomy provides this ease and the possibility for patients to be able to restore their beauty and desirable state immediately or shortly after surgery by reconstruction or installing the prosthesis, and thus increasing the desire to This method. Due to limited information on the oncological outcomes and long-term complications of this method in the country, the aim of this study is to investigate skin sparing mastectomy, which is one of the most recent methods in breast surgery, and extensive research on it in other Countries are done. Methods & Materials: Clinical records and hospitalization of all patients who underwent skin sparing mastectomy resection in Ghaem Hospital and Omid Mashhad between 2009 and end of 2013 were extracted and retrospectively examined. Patients were contacted and data including demographic, histopathologic, tumor type and treatment type were extracted and recorded using checklist forms. Data was collected and analyzed. A total of 200 cases of the patient were examined, of which 129 cases of partial, 36 cases of radical modified mastectomy and 35 skin sparing mastectomy. Results: The mean age of 33 women in the study was 42.4 ± 11.4 years, ranging in age from 26 to 80 years. The mean tumor size was 1.9 ± 3.2 cm. The most common cancers in this study were invasive ductal cancer (71.4%). 17 cases of tumors did not have lymph node involvement and 18 cases (51.4%) had lymph node involvement. The majority of patients were in stage II of the disease. 77.1% (27 cases) of tumors are the type of surgical excisional SLNB and in 22.9% (8 cases), the type of surgery is AD. 18 tumors (51.4%) did not have rebuilding. Prosthetic reconstruction was carried out in 8 cases (22.9%), 5 cases (14.3%) tissue expander, 2 cases (5.7%) tissue expander and one year later prosthesis, and 2 cases of prosthesis one year after mastectomy and latismuss dorsi flap. In 35 tumors examined, 4 cases (11.4%) of recurrence were observed. Of the 35 patients, 14.3% had metastases. The duration of the follow up is 17.1 ± 28.8 months on average. The patients were evaluated for complications including hematoma, necrosis, infection and serouma and a total of 6 complications were reported. The results of the study were analyzed for the relationship between recurrence and stage of disease, recurrence and size of the tumor, recurrence and number of involved lymph nodes, recurrence and reconstruction, metastasis and stage of disease, metastasis and tumor size, metastasis and number of involved lymph nodes, metastasis and reconstruction, tumor stage Complications, size of the tumor and complications and reconstruction and complications were investigated, and none of the items had a meaningful relationship between the mentioned topics. Conclusion: This study showed that this surgical technique does not negatively affect the complications and worsening of the oncological results. Considering the psychological and beauty benefits of this method and the different epidemiology of cancer patients in our country with Western countries such as younger age, it is recommended that studies with higher sample size be conducted in this field in order to provide a more accurate analysis.
