Introduction: Today, with the increasing prevalence of obesity and overweight among reproductive age women, negative consequences on the mother and fetus health, long-term consequences on the health of their children is cause for concern. Pre-pregnancy obesity is an independent risk factor for adverse consequences of pregnancy. In this trial, the researcher examined the effect of educational intervention based on one of fear stimulus models EPPM on the physical activity in overweight women .Method: This study is a semi experimental study in 2015 on 60 women referred to health centers in Mashhad to pre-pregnancy care. Subjects were randomly allocated into two groups to receive either routine care (n=30) or two Educational program (n=30) with the content of fear of overweight effects on fertility and fetus health. Instruments for Data collection was demographic, Baekce Physical Activity Questionnaire; they was completed before, two and four weeks after the intervention by interviews. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (version16).Results: Before the intervention, The level of Total physical activity was moderate and there was no significant difference between the two groups in this averaging score (P> 0.05) also after intervention there was no significant difference between Total physical activity mean in experimental and control groups too. (P> 0.05)Conclusion: Despite the effectiveness of using extended parallel process model in previous studies on changing the health behavior of individuals, the present study showed that training by this model failed to improve the physical activity of women with high body mass index, so further studies on this is necessary.
