چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Pregnancy is one of the most sensitive periods in women s lives. The physiological, hormonal, and psychological changes of this era affect sexual and marital relationships. In Iran, there are valid questionnaires for assessing the sexual function of women and men, but there is no specific instrument about sexual activity during pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to translate, psychometric and validate the Persian version of the sexual activity and sexual response questionnaire during pregnancy. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study. The English version of Pregnancy Sexual Response Inventory (PSRI) was translated into Persian using forward-backward procedure after obtaining permission from the constructor. After consulting the experts and pregnant woman, the content and face validity of the questionnaire were determined qualitatively. The final Persian version was completed by 256 pregnant woman via convenience sampling in 2018. The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and test-retest method.Findings/Results: In this study, the mean and standard deviation of PSRI score before and during pregnancy were 73.04 ± 14.81 and 46.88 ± 16.51, respectively. To determine the reliability, Cronbach s alpha coefficient for all items was calculated as 0.819, and the Intra-class correlation coefficient turned out to be 0.97. Which both represent the acceptable reliability of the Persian version of this questionnaire. Conclusion: Psychometric properties of the Persian version of the sexual response questionnaire during pregnancy indicate the necessary of reliability and validity and it could be used as an appropriate questionnaire for investigating the sexual activity of pregnant women in Iran.
