چکیده مقاله:

Background: Dyspareunia, is a frequent symptom of endometriosis and severely impaired quality of life in affected women. This study examines the effect of surgical resection of endometriosis on deep dyspareunia (DD) and quality of life. Methods: our cohort prospective study included 23 women with endometriosis and Deep Dyspareunia, scheduled for surgical resection of endometriosis due to ymptoms and signs suggestive of endometriosis. All women were operated on by the same surgeon, all visible endometriotic lesions were excised, and the diagnosis of endometriosis was histologically confirmed. Before surgery and at 6 month followup, patients answered an endometriosis health profile questionnaire (ehp-30) and DD intensity was rated by using a 100-mm visual analog scale (VAS).Results: A total of 23 patients responded to the questionnaire at 6 month follow-up. 6 month after the sergical resection of endometriosis, women had significant improvement in DD compared with baseline values (from 5±3.3 to 1.54±2.7; p < 0.001) and the overall Health-related quality of life scores were significantly improved (from 48.77± 30.35 to 74.31±32.88; p < 0.001).Conclusions: Complete excision of endometriosis, is a feasible and good treatment option for improves not only DD but also the patients quality of life
