AN APPLICATION OF RANKING FACILITY LOCATIONS FOR INSTITUTIONS CONDUCTING CENTRALIZED EXAMINATIONS

The decision of facility selection is an issue that includes many criteria in the evaluation process. Because of the wideness of criteria and the requirement of compatibility with each other, it is essential to handle ranking facility locations for institutions. The challenges associated with facilitate a new system being are also greater ever when complexity of a problem is increasing. Because of the importance of these problems, some specific decision making methods have been developed called as multi criteria decision making (MCDM) methods. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method which is one of them is used by considering qualitative factors for this study. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the examination buildings in terms of ergonomics and human factors by using AHP method. It is also aimed to provide an approach that could help decision-makers in institutions conducting centralized examinations with this aim. Constructed surveys are answered by 69 examination coordinators of the selected institution conducting centralized examinations. According to the answers, 4 different main criteria and 21 sub criteria are examined by using MS Excel Software. The examinations are done with the specific facility locations of institutions conducting centralized examinations. As a result of the study, rankings of the facility locations are handled with some scores. This study was performed informally for an institution conducting centralized examinations throughout the country. Data and evaluations are reflecting real cases.
