چکیده مقاله:

There has been plethora of preclinical and animal experiments showingefficacy and safety of the use of various cell-based modalities, includingthe use of stem cells or T regulatory cells, after transplantation for tissuerepair, immunosuppression or tolerance induction. Nevertheless, therehas recently been a substantial progress in terms of the utilization of celltherapy in solid organ transplantation in small clinical trials. The reportedfindings of recent studies appear to be very promising and the use of celltherapy in solid organ transplantation seems to be plausible and safe. However, there exist some issues to overcome, including the dose andtiming of the infusions. As a matter of fact, the current investigations havemainly focused on the live donor kidney transplantation. It seems thatthe expansion of current regimes to other organs and deceased donortransplantation might be crucial though such concept is yet to be fullyaddressed.
