ANTI-ANGIOGENESIS EFFECTS OF DIETARY VITAMIN E IN WOMEN WITH PCOS: A RANDOMIZED PLACEBO-CONTROLLED TRIAL

Background and Aim: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the One of the most prevalent metabolic diseases characterised by hyperandrogenism, hirsutism, and lack of ovulation. In our study, we determined the effects of vitamin E on ovarian angiogenesis in patients with PCOS.Methods: In a randomized clinical trial study, 43 women with PCOS were recruitedin and divided into intervention and control groups. In the intervention group, supplementation with vitamin E was administered to patients for 8 weeks, and the control group received placebo daily until the end of the intervention. anthropometric measurements, including weight and height, waist circumference, hip circumference were measured and 24-hour food recall were completed by participants.Results: There was a significant decrease in serum vascular endothelial growth factor levels in the vitamin E group.Conclusion: vitamin E administration for 8 weeks among women with PCOS to ovarian angiogenic had Anti-angiogenesis effect.
