چکیده مقاله:

ntroduction: One of the most important viruses that cause acute respiratory infections are coronaviruses. NL63 was first identified in 2004 in a child with bronchiolitis in theNetherlands. Infection with NL63 is often an upper and lower respiratory tract infection in adults. HCOV-NL63 may cause severe respiratory illness, rapid detection of this viralinfection can help control the transmission of hospital infections, Reduces the use of antibiotics and improves treatment and management. Corona viruses can also infecthumans and various types of pets and can cause common diseases such as respiratory, intestinal, cardiovascular and neurological diseases. So early detection can provide asolution for a health care system. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of coronavirus NL63 in children under the age of 5 years with acute respiratory infections inKerman in 1396. The method of this study was sampling of children with acute respiratory infections from throat or nasal secretions and in the first stage extraction of the virusgenome was performed and in the second step, using RT-PCR was done. This study showed that there was a significant relationship between HCOV-NL63 infection and acuterespiratory infection in children under the age of 5 years. Objective: The main objective of the project was to determine the frequency of coronavirus NL63 in children under 5 years of age with acute respiratory infections, Kerman, 1396. Methods: In a descriptive cross-sectional study, 138 samples of patients with acute respiratory infection referred to the hospital and department of pediatrics were collected during the interval between May and March 2016. Samples of respiratory and throat secretions were collected by using sterile dacron swab and placed in an antibiotic transport medium and placed in a freezer-80. Genomic extraction was done from specimen of patients using the RIBO-Prep kit and in accordance with Instructions of the manufacturer. Results: 138 samples including 77 males and 61 women with an average age of 27.54 ± 16.2 months were studied. Of these, 33 samples with an average age of 16 months were positive for NL63. There is a significant relationship between the age of the infected and the coronal NL63 in the statistical analysis. The highest age of the infection was in the age group of 37-48 and the lowest in the age group was 12 months. There is a significant relationship between the infection and signs and symptoms of the disease, such as cough, runny nose, and abdominal pain. Discussion: We conclude in this study that there is a correlation between HCOV-NL63 infection and acute respiratory infection in children under the age of 5 years, and according to the results of this study and previous findings, prophylaxis is recommended and more research is needed to reduce the pathogenicity of the virus in patients with HCOV-NL63infections.
